Kolkata, renowned as the city of India's first licensed amateur radio operator, has long been a significant center for radio enthusiasts. Building on this historical legacy, OSCAR INDIA (Open Source Classes for Amateur Radio India) was established in 2015 with a mission to foster enthusiasm and education in amateur radio. What started with a handful of enthusiasts has evolved into a nationwide movement, encompassing students and licensed operators from 18 states across India.

OSCAR INDIA is dedicated to preparing aspiring amateur radio operators for the ASOC (Amateur Station Operator's Certificate) examination. Our efforts extend beyond education; we are also committed to enhancing disaster management capabilities. We have formed a key partnership with the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), providing specialized training to NSDMA officials to improve their proficiency in using amateur radio for effective emergency communication and disaster management.
